Dr. (Mrs.) Nnenna A. Orji, JD, LLM is the CEO and Co-founder of the Herbert Onye Orji Foundation (HOOF). In this role and alongside the organization’s Board of Trustees, she guides the organization – and their team members and volunteers – toward a vision to educate, empower, and establish entrepreneurial opportunities for young adults and small business owners. Mrs. Orji overseas the creation of effective strategic planning processes and fulfills a mission-critical role that is vital to funding all mission delivery work.
Mrs. Orji, an Economist, Lawyer and Jurist, was the Executive Chairman of the Investments and Securities Tribunal, Nigeria (IST). She joined the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria in 1984 as pioneer head of the Legal division, and later became the Head of Enforcement Unit in SEC. Under her leadership, the Legal & Enforcement department transformed the Securities and Exchange Commission into a world class knowledge based regulatory agency.
Mrs. Orji holds a B.A (Hons.) in Economics & Business Administration from Howard University, Washington, DC; Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D) from Howard University, School of Law, and LLM Degree with emphasis on corporate and commercial law from New York University (NYU), School of Law, New York. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1982.
